Activity Report: Work Period Beginning May 20, 2019

All members and volunteers available were included in the work week.

Activities this week included:
  • Video and Audio Production Training in the Divine Truth office and studio
  • Cleaning accommodation that was used for Volunteer Selection Programme participants
  • Continued renovation work on the Function Centre Caretaker’s Residence (including finding a broken telecom cable and carpentry work)
  • Ongoing environmental projects (moving soil and wood chip, completing the holes for tree planting that were begun during the Volunteer Selection Project, large scale terracing and collection of native seeds)

The many different projects that were completed this week are documented in the photos below. The photos are snap shots of each project taken throughout the work days. Most don’t represent the completed tasks.

Along with working hard on Divine Truth Production tasks and joining us for many of the outdoor activities, Jesus and Mary designed and supervised the God’s Way activities for the week. All we had to do was follow the instructions they had given us. Thank you Jesus and Mary for doing all the hard work. Eloisa directed and supervised work during most tasks. Catherine was taking the photos.

Repairing Cabling

Wayne and Corny were digging up, or rather trying to find, the telephone cable that had been mended some time ago by technicians from the telecommunication company. These repairs had not been done correctly.

Unfortunately, so far much of the work God’s Way Ltd is undertaking on the properties purchased by the organisation is repairing the mistakes or problems in workmanship of previous owners. Much time has been taken up in fixing these problems before other works can commence. God’s Way Ltd takes the approach of always installing quality work and fixing problems from the bottom up (not just on a superficial level). This ensures that structures and creations owned by the organisation have longevity, and while fixing things and completing tasks thoroughly may take some time to begin with, in the long term time is saved. This approach is in harmony with God’s Principles of Economy and Function.

Environmental Projects

Volunteers completed holes for tree planting that were begun during the Volunteer Selection Project.

Measures were taken to prevent erosion of the steep bank near the tree planting holes.

Production Equipment

As part of the God’s Way Production Team training, Tristan was in the Divine Truth studio all week unloading boxes of equipment, cataloguing each item and then returning the boxes to storage.

Terrace Project

On the weekend of the 25th and 26th, terracing on the hill of the Function Center has been undertaken. Banks created on the terraces which will hold water when it rains. This has been done by a professional dozer driver using a bulldozer owned by Catherine Spence. Catherine has kindly given God’s Way unlimited use of her bulldozer and excavator.

Ryan, who is driving the dozer is doing the work in exchange for the cattle yards that were on the Function Centre Caretaker’s property when it was purchased.

Both the dozer and the excavator are shown in use using the different attachments needed to complete the work.
